Syrsky congratulated the air force personnel on their professional holiday and thanked them for defending Ukraine
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi congratulated the military personnel of the Army Aviation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their professional holiday, highlighting their courage, professionalism, and decisive role in carrying out combat missions.
In his address, he emphasized that Ukraine’s skies are defended by indomitable warriors who, even under the most difficult conditions and under enemy fire, take to the skies in helicopters to support the infantry, strike the enemy, destroy enemy drones, evacuate the wounded, and carry out dozens of other critically important missions.
“The Ukrainian skies have unbreakable defenders. Under the most difficult conditions, under enemy fire, you take off in helicopters to support the infantry, strike the enemy, destroy enemy drones, evacuate the wounded, and carry out dozens of other tasks on which the lives of Ukrainian defenders and the success of complex operations depend,” Syrskyi emphasized.
According to the Commander-in-Chief, army aviation has become one of the symbols of courage, professionalism, and self-sacrifice of the Ukrainian military. He noted that the crews fly at extremely low altitudes, demonstrating high skill, composure, and dedication to their military oath.
Syrskyi extended special words of gratitude to the pilots, navigators, flight engineers, engineering and technical personnel, service members of support units, and everyone who maintains the combat readiness of aviation equipment and ensures the fulfillment of combat missions on a daily basis.
The Commander-in-Chief also honored the memory of the fallen defenders.
“We bow our heads in reverence to the noble memory of the Army Aviation soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and independence. Their heroic deeds will live on forever in our hearts and in the history of the Ukrainian people’s struggle. I thank every soldier of the Army Aviation for their high professionalism, courage, and impeccable fulfillment of their military duty,” said Syrskyi.

Every year on July 3, Ukraine celebrates Army Aviation Day of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a new professional military holiday that was officially established by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 17/2025 dated January 8, 2025.
As a reminder, every year on July 3, Belarus officially celebrates Independence Day. It is one of the country’s main national holidays, accompanied by military parades, ceremonial events, and festive concerts. At the same time, this date remains a subject of political debate both within the country and among Belarusians living abroad.
