MP Poturaev plans to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine after relinquishing his seat

Mykita Poturaev, a 55-year-old member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” faction, stated that he plans to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces once his resignation from parliament has been officially approved.

The former committee chair assured that his move is not an attempt at political self-promotion, and that he is genuinely ready to trade his business suit for a military uniform.

According to Poturaev, he has already reviewed the open positions on the “Territory of Recruitment” website and found some interesting offers, as he believes there is a place in the army for any man capable of doing the job. When asked about his future in high-level politics, the former committee chair responded cautiously, noting that the most important thing right now is to understand where he can be of the greatest benefit to the country’s victory.

Commenting on his relationship with the Presidential Office following Andriy Yermak’s resignation and amid personnel changes in the Cabinet of Ministers, Poturaev noted that he does not expect a personal call from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as their interactions in recent years have been strictly professional. At the same time, he denied rumors of a conflict with the Office of the President, describing their current interaction as a normal working relationship.

Poturaev spoke about this in an interview with the publication “Censor.NET.”

Mykita Poturaev, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy and a member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” faction, announced the early termination of his parliamentary mandate. He asked his colleagues to consider his statement without delay.

As previously reported, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the parliamentary mandates of MPs Maslov and Bezgin and appointed them, respectively, as Minister of Justice and Minister of Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine.
