Police have arrested two murderers who were wanted in Poland and Turkey

Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine located and detained two foreign nationals within the country who were on the run from justice for committing particularly serious crimes.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a 34-year-old Azerbaijani citizen wanted by Interpol for murder in Poland. In early 2025, in the center of Warsaw near a Georgian restaurant, the suspect fatally stabbed a 31-year-old Georgian citizen in the heart during a conflict.

During his arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a fake passport in the name of a Latvian citizen. A second fugitive, a Turkish citizen, was detained in Odesa with the assistance of the cyber police. He was wanted for a premeditated murder committed in January 2015 in Istanbul following a dispute over a parking space, during which a local resident was killed in a shooting. After Interpol issued a “Red Notice” in late 2024, his whereabouts were established. Preparations for the extradition of both detainees are currently underway.

This was reported by the National Police press service.

A gang of repeat offenders was detained in the Carpathian region for robbing a currency exchange office of 9 million hryvnias

As a reminder, a scheme to smuggle men out of the country via the TCC was uncovered in Kharkiv.
