Doctors in Lviv saved a man from Ternopil after six months of treatment for injuries sustained in a rocket attack

Yevhen, a 69-year-old man who suffered extremely severe injuries during the Russian missile attack on Ternopil on November 19, 2025, was discharged from a Lviv medical facility. The man was pulled from the rubble of his own home with a ruptured abdomen, massive bleeding, and critical damage to the blood vessels in his legs

Doctors in Ternopil provided initial emergency care and stabilized the patient’s condition, successfully saving his limb from the threat of amputation.

A month later, the man was transferred to Lviv, where specialists at St. Panteleimon Hospital, led by Chief Surgeon Hnat Herych, overcame severe purulentseptic complications and performed six complex reconstructive surgeries to restore the functions of the intestines, bladder, and ureter. Yevhen has now returned to his hometown to regain his strength before the next stage of treatment—in six months, he will undergo orthopedic surgery designed to restore his ability to walk independently.

This was reported by the First Medical Association of Lviv.

September 9, 2025: For the first time since the war began, Russian occupiers struck Lviv with a ballistic missile.

In the village of Rudno, which is part of the Lviv community, 376 customers were temporarily left without gas service due to the missile attack, which triggered the automatic safety system.
