Mikhail Fedorov was summoned to a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada's Temporary Investigation Commission regarding Operation Midas
The Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission has summoned former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to a hearing on August 31, where he is to provide explanations and testimony as part of the investigation into Operation “Midas.”
“We are summoning former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission, which will take place on August 31. The commission has a great many questions for Mr. Mykhailo. We would like to receive answers to them,” Goncharenko wrote.
As noted in the TSC’s statement, Fedorov’s presence is necessary to provide explanations as part of the investigation into Operation “Midas,” which the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) made public on November 11, 2025.
The commission’s meeting is scheduled for August 31 at 1:00 p.m. in Kyiv. The TSC is investigating possible violations of defense and anti-corruption laws, as well as issues related to the observance of human rights and freedoms during martial law.
According to Goncharenko, committee members have accumulated a significant number of questions for the former minister, to which they wish to receive answers.
This was reported by the TSC chairman, People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko, on Telegram.
Earlier, former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy must answer questions regarding possible corruption among his inner circle. He made this statement in an interview with BBC News following the announcement of a money-laundering investigation involving lawmakers and bankers.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he has a positive view of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov but believes that Fedorov either made the wrong decisions on his own or was pushed into making them. According to the president, he offered Fedorov various options for future work on four separate occasions, but Fedorov rejected them all.
