Mikhailova said she received calls from the SBS regarding Kozyatinsky
The head of the “Ulf” medical unit of the “Da Vinci Wolves” battalion, Kyiv City Council member and civic activist Alina Mikhailova stated that she received a phone call from the Unmanned Systems Forces Command asking which unit Dmytro Kozyatynskyi serves in. According to her, the inquiry concerned a man who had called on people to join protests against the resignation of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
Mikhailova wrote about this on Facebook. She claims that the calls were related to an urgent desire to determine Koziatynsky’s place of service, as he had been writing about the protests and urging people to participate in them.
Mikhailova noted that Kozyatinsky was a combat medic with the “Ulf” medical unit but had left the army about a year ago. According to her, he currently has no connection to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Mikhailova also stated that military personnel who express their own opinions or participate in peaceful protests while on lawful leave may face “consequences.” In her view, for many soldiers, supporting the protests could result in the loss of their position, rank, reprimands, limited career prospects, or a “preventive conversation.”
Mikhailova called this the biggest problem and emphasized that military personnel who defend the state have the right to their own civic stance. “Ukrainska Pravda” reached out to the Unmanned Systems Forces for comment.
On July 17, a protest against Fedorov’s resignation took place in central Kyiv for the second day in a row. In the summer of 2025, Kozyatynsky called on Kyiv residents to gather for a protest following the adoption of a bill regarding the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). At that time, mass protests also took place in Lviv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Sumy.
