The Ministry of Defense has authorized the deployment of the Cyclops multi-purpose interceptor drone

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has certified and authorized the “Cyclops” unmanned aerial system (UAS) for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new domestically produced system is designed to effectively engage both ground-based and airborne enemy targets

The drone was developed by a Ukrainian company specializing in the creation of weapons for modern high-intensity warfare.

Various versions of the “Cyclops” have been successfully carrying out missions on the front lines for several years, but the system has now received official certification. Depending on its intended use, the UAV comes in several versions: structurally simpler and less expensive variants are designed to destroy ground targets or slow, low-flying targets, while more complex variants are designed to intercept high-speed strike drones such as the “Shahed” at high altitudes.

Key characteristics and combat achievements of the UAV:

  • Technical specifications: The UAV’s wingspan is just over 1 meter, and its endurance reaches nearly 1.5 hours. Thanks to its compact size and high speed, the drone remains difficult to detect by enemy weapons systems.

  • Altitude and Range: The “Cyclops” is capable of ascending higher than the maximum operational altitude of Russian reconnaissance and strike drones. At the same time, the system’s range is more than sufficient to reliably protect any regional center in Ukraine from air attacks.

  • Combat record: The “Cyclops V2” variant has already eliminated over a hundred enemy aerial targets, including Russian “Gerbera,” Zala, “Orlan,” Supercam, “Lancet,” and “Molniya” drones. In addition, “Cyclops” was the first drone to shoot down a Russian Shahed directly over the Kursk Oblast of the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense has approved more than 1,100 new weapons systems in the past six months.

The Ministry of Defense has codified and authorized the use of the new Ukrainian-made B-1 unmanned aerial system by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These ultra-light bombers are designed to strike concentrations of personnel, vehicles, and armored equipment.
