The Ministry of Defense has codified more than 1,500 new weapon models in eight months
In the first eight months of 2026, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense codified and approved the procurement of 1,526 new models of weapons and military equipment. Nearly 91% of them were manufactured by Ukrainian producers, including various types of unmanned systems.
During the same period in 2025, the defense ministry certified 983 models of weapons and military equipment, 86% of which were Ukrainian-made.
This year, the Defense Forces’ arsenal was expanded with the latest models of unmanned aerial systems, including long-range “deep strike” drones, high-tech “middle strike” drones, and high-speed interceptor drones.
Also codified were models of armored vehicles and special armored cars, ammunition, communications equipment, electronic warfare/reconnaissance systems, ground-based robotic systems, multi-purpose vehicles, and more.
=Since the beginning of 2026, the largest number of codified models have been high-tech military equipment. Most of them are manufactured in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the supply of new and modernized models of military equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Specifically:
- 565 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs);
- 56 types of ammunition;
- 139 communications devices;
- 86 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs);
- 64 electronic warfare/signals intelligence systems;
- 52 vehicles;
- 48 types of armored vehicles and special armored vehicles;
- 37 types of optical equipment.
All items meet the requirements of modern high-intensity warfare.
In addition to the latest lethal weapons, the Ministry of Defense has approved the procurement of a large number of domestically produced non-lethal military equipment items, which are essential for defenders to carry out their missions on the battlefield and in the rear.
The following have been approved for use by the Defense Forces:
- 26 domestically produced rear-area support vehicles;
- 21 training simulators;
- 19 engineering tools and mine-clearing equipment;
- 10 maintenance equipment models;
- 3 models for radiological, chemical, and biological protection.
One of the Ministry of Defense’s priorities is to ensure that the Ukrainian military has a technological advantage over the enemy. That is why the list of approved models is dominated by the latest equipment that meets the requirements of modern high-intensity warfare.
On September 3, a man was injured in the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region as a result of a Russian attack. It is known that one person was wounded by the enemy strike.
In the Khmelnytskyi region, a warehouse at one of the enterprises caught fire after debris from a downed Russian attack drone fell on it. The fire covered an area of 200 square meters, according to Serhiy Tyurin, head of the regional military administration.
Over the past day, 15 private homes were damaged in the Mykolaiv region as a result of attacks by Russian Shahed-type strike UAVs. A social services building and three cars were also damaged, according to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Head Heorhiy Reshetilov.
