Exchange Rates in Ukraine on September 5: How Much Will the Dollar and the Euro Cost?
On Saturday, September 5, the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine at most currency exchange offices and bank teller windows will range from 44.30 to 44.60 UAH per dollar for buying and from 44.75 to 45.10 UAH for selling.
According to an expert’s forecast, the euro exchange rate at currency exchange offices on September 5 will be 51.40–51.90 UAH for buying and 52.20–52.50 UAH for selling.
Kozyrev noted that on the weekend, currency exchange offices will most likely not attempt to significantly raise or lower their rates.
According to him, the currency market will operate primarily “on turnover,” and some exchange offices may even narrow the spread between the buy and sell rates.
“Most currency exchange offices will operate with a spread of 15–20 kopecks against the dollar and 20 to 40 kopecks against the euro. However, the ‘most greedy’ chains in the busiest commercial areas will continue their practice of maintaining a spread of up to 1 hryvnia for both the dollar and the euro,” the expert concluded.
As of September 7, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate at 44.56 UAH per dollar.
The official exchange rate for the euro on that date was 51.79 UAH per euro.
On the interbank foreign exchange market, the hryvnia’s exchange rate against the dollar settled at 44.55/44.59 UAH per dollar, and against the euro at 51.76/51.80 UAH per euro.
Thus, on September 5, most currency exchange offices predicted that the cash dollar would trade in the range of up to 45.10 UAH when sold, while the euro could be sold for up to 52.50 UAH.
This forecast was announced by financial analyst Oleksiy Kozyrev.
The National Bank of Ukraine published the official hryvnia exchange rate for Monday, September 7. The U.S. dollar fell by 16 kopecks, and the euro by 15 kopecks.
