The Ministry of Defense has launched an automated system for removing individuals from military registration based on age
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has simplified the procedure for removing citizens from military registration upon reaching the age limit. On Friday, September 11, the ministry confirmed the launch of an automated mechanism to remove conscripts and reservists from the system.
Data updates and status changes will take place in the “Oberig” electronic registry.
Conscripts and reservists who have reached the maximum age for remaining in the reserve will now be automatically removed from military registration in the “Oberig” registry.
It is no longer necessary to personally contact the territorial recruitment and social support centers (TRSCs) for this purpose. The “Oberig” registry will check the date of birth and military rank of conscripts on a daily basis.
If a person has reached the age limit for remaining in the reserve, they will be automatically removed from military registration.
The age limit is:
- 60 years old—for most individuals subject to military service and reservists;
- 65 years old—for senior officers.
Upon removal, any deferrals or reservations the citizen may have had will be automatically canceled.
The “Reserve+” app will notify users of the status change. After the military registration document is updated, the status “Removed” will appear in the app.
If the status in the app has not changed, citizens are advised to log back into “Reserve+” and update the document. If this does not resolve the issue, you must contact the Territorial Military Registration and Enlistment Office (TMREO) and the Specialized Department (SD) to verify your data.
Automatic exclusion does not cancel any violations of military registration rules that were recorded earlier. These must be resolved separately.
The digitization of military registration in Ukraine is ongoing as part of defense sector reforms. Previously, the Ministry of Defense had already launched a number of electronic services in the “Reserve+” app, including the ability to apply for deferments for certain categories of citizens without visiting Administrative Service Centers or providing paper certificates. The main goal of the unified state registry “Oberig” is to automate processes, reduce the workload on district military registration and enlistment offices and military commissariats, and minimize human error in maintaining records of those subject to military service.
