The Ministry of Education and Science has announced a competition for the positions of rector at five Ukrainian universities
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced competitions to fill the positions of rector at five more universities located in Drohobych, Poltava, Chernihiv, Lubny, and Rivne.
According to the ministry’s orders, competitions have been announced for the positions of rector at the Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University of Drohobych, the V. G. Korolenko, the T. G. Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Collegium,” the State Institution “Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University,” and the National University of Water Management and Environmental Resources.
It is noted that Ukrainian citizens may participate in the competitions if they are proficient in the state language at the level determined by the National Commission on State Language Standards (fluency in the state language at the first or second level), hold an academic title and a scientific degree, and have at least ten years of experience working as research and teaching staff.
The deadline for submitting applications is two months from the date of publication of the announcement on the Ministry of Education’s official website.
As previously reported, for the 2025–2026 academic years, the Ministry of Education has already announced competitions to fill the positions of rector at more than 30 universities in Dnipro, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Kropyvnytskyi, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Bila Tserkva, Cherkasy, Nizhyn, and Kyiv.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education stated that approximately 60 rector elections would take place in Ukraine in 2025–2026.
