A man with a German passport was drafted in Bukovina

Member of Parliament Georgiy Mazurashu stated that a German citizen who had come to Ukraine to visit relatives was drafted into the army in Bukovina during the mobilization.

According to the lawmaker, the man is currently at a training center, and the German Embassy has reportedly been informed of the situation.

In his video address, Mazurashu claims that the man lost his Ukrainian citizenship back in 2017 and holds only German citizenship.

Subsequently, the deputy released a document which, according to him, is a certificate from the German Embassy in Kyiv. It states that the man is a German citizen and that his Ukrainian citizenship was allegedly revoked by Presidential Decree No. 387/2017 of November 25, 2017.

However, the specified decree number is not found in public registries, and as of the date indicated, no such document is registered on the Office of the President’s website.

According to the MP, the basis for the mobilization was that, upon reaching the age of majority, the man had previously been issued a Ukrainian passport.

The Chernivtsi Regional Territorial Center for Temporary Accommodation and Social Support reported that during the procedures, the man did not provide documents confirming the termination of his Ukrainian citizenship.

Furthermore, according to state registries and information from the Chernivtsi branch of the State Migration Service, he is registered as a citizen of Ukraine in accordance with Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine “On Citizenship of Ukraine.”

The TCC noted that the citizen did not exercise his right to deferment from mobilization. After undergoing a military medical examination, he was deemed fit for military service.

After completing all procedures required by law, the man was sent to serve in one of the military units.

The military registration and enlistment office emphasized that officials acted in accordance with current legislation and the available official data from state registries.

Mazurashu mentioned this in a video on his social media accounts.

Earlier in Kryvyi Rih, a father raising his 14-year-old son on his own was mobilized to a territorial recruitment center. Due to the lack of properly executed deferment documents, the boy was temporarily placed in a boarding school. The ombudsman responded to the situation, promising to investigate the circumstances and verify compliance with the child’s rights.

In Zaporizhzhia, a single father was mobilized, and his children were left on the street.

In Kyiv, a man was detained who, for $15,000–25,000, helped remove conscripts from the military registry.

Additionally, the SBU and National Police detained three more pro-Kremlin agitators in the Kharkiv region.
