Two new tourist routes through the Carpathians will open in Bukovina
By the end of 2026, two new tourist routes will be established in the Chernivtsi region, running through the Bukovinian Carpathians. The new trails are expected to make the region even more attractive to hiking and cycling enthusiasts.
The starting point for both routes will be the village of Samakova.
From there, tourists will be able to choose one of two directions—to the former “Pamir” radar station or to Mount Velykyi Stizhok, located within the Vyzhnytskyi National Nature Park.
The first route to the “Pamir” station will soon be equipped with informational signs to help travelers safely navigate the mountainous terrain. The section from Samakov to the Maksymets Ridge will also be marked, and the trail itself will be made suitable for both hiking and cycling.
The second route will be over 5 kilometers long and will pass through the forests of the Vyzhnytsia region to the summit of Velykyi Stizhok. A journey along this trail will combine picturesque Carpathian landscapes, natural landmarks, historical sites, and the region’s cultural heritage.
Currently, there are 39 tourist routes in the Chernivtsi region. In addition, the “Vyzhnytskyi” and “Cheremoskyi” National Nature Parks already offer 3D tours along their nature trails, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of the Bukovinian Carpathians even from a distance.

As a reminder, Turkey hopes to attract more foreign tourists by offering expedited border control amid potential delays at EU airports following the introduction of the new EES entry system.
In Greece, large-scale inspections have begun of apartments and houses rented to tourists on a short-term basis. Owners who violate registration or documentation requirements may face significant fines, as well as the suspension of their listings and accounts on accommodation booking platforms.
