The longest gondola lift in Ukraine will be installed at the ski resort in Slavske

The OKKO Group will install Ukraine’s longest gondola lift at the GORO Mountain Resort, an all-season resort currently under construction in Slavske.

The new tourist route will be 2.8 km long, and its launch is scheduled to coincide with the opening of the first phase of this large-scale project.

This modern infrastructure facility, manufactured by the renowned Austrian company Doppelmayr, will operate year-round.

Thanks to the versatility of the cabins, guests of the complex will be able to comfortably transport not only classic ski equipment but also bicycles or other bulky items.

The new route will efficiently connect the lower and upper stations with a vertical drop of 550 meters.

The cable car’s capacity will be 2,800 passengers per hour, and the ride itself will take about 9 minutes. Each individual cabin is designed to hold 10 people and is equipped with large panoramic windows and natural ventilation systems.

Engineers and developers paid special attention to the issue of inclusivity and accessibility of transportation for every visitor to the complex.

“The floor of the gondola cabin will be at the same level as the station’s boarding area, making the process convenient and safe for various categories of guests: families with children in strollers, seniors, guests with limited mobility, and people in wheelchairs,” the company notes.

Construction of the facility will proceed in phases and began with the complete dismantling of the old infrastructure. The next steps will include preparing the foundations for the stations and supports, installing equipment, stringing the cable, and commissioning.

In addition to the gondola lift, the first phase of GORO will also include the construction of two chairlifts with wind protection, each 1.5 km long.

Total investment in the GORO ropeway system amounts to €47 million, of which €20 million is allocated directly to the gondola lift.

The cost of the resort’s first phase is estimated at 470 million euros, of which 120 million is for mountain infrastructure and 350 million for hotel facilities.

The Lviv Regional Council approved the transfer of 176 hectares of forest to the GORO Mountain Resort

As a reminder, a court seized land from garage cooperatives in the capital.

ARMA also canceled the sale of 460 hectares of land in Borzhava due to the buyers’ ties to Russia.
