A man in the Kharkiv region died from an electric shock while fishing

In Lyubotin, Kharkiv Oblast, a 25-year-old man died from an electric shock while fishing.

The tragedy occurred on August 15 at one of the town’s ponds. The man was in the water and, while casting his line, his hook caught on a wire carrying 10,000 volts of electricity.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and attempted to resuscitate the victim, but were unable to save him.

Local residents note that dangerous incidents have occurred in this area before. Warning signs have been posted there.

Law enforcement officials have opened a criminal case under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, classified as an “accident.”

Earlier, Oleksiy Yukov, the leader of the “Platsdarm” search and rescue team from Sloviansk, was killed.

Prior to that, arm-wrestling champion Ihor Hladkyi was killed on the front lines.
