In the Kyiv region, a drunk tractor driver struck and killed a 6-year-old child
A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Obukhiv District of Kyiv Oblast. According to preliminary reports, a 22-year-old tractor driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, struck a 6-year-old girl riding a bicycle. The child died at the scene from her injuries.
According to law enforcement officials, a report of the accident in the village of Zemlyanka was received on August 3 at approximately 10:30 a.m.
It has been preliminarily established that the tractor driver, who was pulling a loaded trailer, failed to maintain a safe lateral distance while passing another vehicle, resulting in him striking the child.
“Unfortunately, the 6-year-old child died at the scene from her injuries,” police reported.
After the accident, law enforcement officers detained the 22-year-old tractor driver.
A test revealed that his blood alcohol content was 1.69 per mille, which significantly exceeds the legal limit.
In connection with the fatal traffic accident caused while under the influence of alcohol, investigators have launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The driver has already been notified of the charges against him. Law enforcement officials are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the tragic accident.

Earlier in the Kyiv region, at a recreation area on the banks of the Ros River, a 17-year-old boy, while learning to drive a VAZ, struck a 61-year-old woman. According to preliminary data, the accident occurred while the car was reversing.
In Boryspil, Kyiv Oblast, a traffic accident occurred, resulting in injuries to a 6-year-old boy. The child was hospitalized with injuries.
