A couple was detained in the Odesa region for attempting to smuggle a man into Moldova for $1,500
In the Odesa region, border guards caught a man and a woman attempting to illegally smuggle a man subject to military conscription into Moldova for $1,500.
According to the investigation, they were acting on instructions from the administrator of a Telegram channel. The woman drove ahead along the route to check the situation, while her accomplice transported the client to the border. After receiving a down payment, the man was transferred to another car, which was supposed to take him to the Transnistrian section of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.
Border guards foiled the plan. The suspects’ cars, money, and cell phones were seized. They were notified of the charges against them, and preventive measures were imposed.
