Emergency power outages have been implemented in the Sumy region
Emergency power outages were implemented in Sumy and the Sumy district on the morning of July 8. Utility workers are already working to restore power, but the cause of the outages and the number of customers left without power have not yet been disclosed.
“We have an emergency power outage in Sumy and the Sumy district. We are restoring power to customers!” the company said in a statement.
At this time, “Sumyoblenergo” has not specified what caused the power outages. It is also unknown how many customers remain without power.
At the same time, the power grid in the Sumy region has been operating under particularly difficult conditions in recent weeks. NPC “Ukrenergo” reported that the region is regularly subjected to Russian strikes on energy infrastructure facilities and continues to deal with the aftermath of previous attacks.
Sumyoblenergo JSC reported the emergency power outages.
As a reminder, a state of emergency has been declared in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region due to power outages.
Russia carried out 56 strikes on the Sumy region over the past 24 hours; there have been fatalities.
In Ukraine, rolling blackouts may be implemented due to increased strain on the power grid or as a result of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. That is why energy officials recommend relying only on official sources of information.
