Charges have been filed in the Ternopil region over the destruction of a cultural heritage site
Investigators with the Ternopil Regional Police have charged four individuals in connection with illegal construction work that resulted in damage to a cultural heritage site.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, during the construction of a residential complex, the developer, landowners, and architect ignored requirements to obtain the necessary permits. The work was carried out within the city’s historic district in violation of current legislation.
An expert assessment determined that these actions caused the state losses amounting to over 28.9 million hryvnias.
All suspects have been notified of the charges. The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier in the Odesa region, the director of a construction company was notified of suspicion of embezzling 8.4 million hryvnias during the reconstruction of housing for military personnel.
