In the Vinnytsia region, a man attempted to leave the country using forged documents identifying him as a father of many children
At the “Mogyliv-Podilskyi” border crossing in Vinnytsia Oblast, border guards foiled an attempt to illegally cross the state border. A 29-year-old resident of Kyiv Oblast attempted to leave Ukraine by posing as a father of many children, but during the inspection, it was discovered that some of his documents were forged.
According to the documents, he was allegedly raising a one-year-old son born in Ukraine, as well as two-year-old twins who, according to the documents, were born in Cyprus.
The foreign birth certificates aroused the border guards’ suspicion because they did not conform to established standards.
During a subsequent investigation, the man admitted that the documents were forged. According to him, he had purchased them from an unidentified individual for 15,000 dollars.
Border guards denied the man entry across the state border.
A report regarding the use of forged documents was forwarded to the National Police regarding a possible criminal offense under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—“Forgery of documents, seals, stamps, and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, and stamps.”
According to border guards, the man presented three birth certificates for his children while passing through passport control, the Mohyliv-Podilskyi Border Guard Detachment reports.
