A new system for recruiting volunteers from abroad has been launched in Ukraine

A market for supporting foreign volunteers has officially launched in Ukraine. Ukrainian companies will now be able to help citizens of other countries navigate the entire process of signing a contract with the Armed Forces in accordance with uniform rules established by the state.

The Ministry of Defense says the new system is intended to make this process transparent and understandable, and will help attract more motivated volunteers to the Ukrainian military. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the launch of the program.

According to him, from now on, companies that meet the established requirements will be able to officially assist foreigners who wish to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. “Our goal is to attract more motivated foreigners to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. To this end, we are opening up the market for assisting foreign volunteers to Ukrainian companies that are ready to officially join this process,” Fedorov noted.

He explained that from now on, the entire process—from the moment a foreigner decides to come to Ukraine until the signing of a military contract—will follow a standardized procedure. Companies participating in the program will assist volunteers at every stage of the enrollment process.

In return, they will receive a fixed fee from the government. Payments will not be made immediately but in stages—after the completion of each specified stage of support. Only Ukrainian companies can join the program. To do so, they must:

  • submit an application via a special form on the official website;
  • wait for a response from program representatives;
  • pass a government review.

The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that only verified companies will be able to work with foreign volunteers. They must be registered in Ukraine, confirm their integrity, financial stability, and compliance with all established requirements.

According to Fedorov, this system will ensure a uniform process for all participants and minimize potential abuses. “This is another step toward systematically strengthening combat units and saving the lives of Ukrainian servicemembers,” the minister concluded.

The Ministry of Defense expects that the launch of this new model will help more effectively recruit foreign volunteers willing to fight on Ukraine’s side into the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as well as make the enrollment process faster, clearer, and more controllable. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the launch of the program.

A court found a resident of the Ternopil region guilty of posting information on Viber about the locations and movements of servicemen from the Territorial Defense Forces and the Special Forces. He was sentenced to five years in prison; however, he was exempted from actually serving his sentence and was placed on probation.
