A man died in Vinnytsia Oblast due to a space heater
A local resident died in a fire at a private home in the village of Sloboda-Dashkovetska, Yakushynetska community. The tragedy occurred due to a short circuit in an electric heater, commonly known as a “blowtorch,” which the man was using to heat his home.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service in Vinnytsia Oblast.

The fire from the faulty device spread to a mattress, causing heavy smoke and smoldering. Neighbors discovered the man’s lifeless body after the fire had been extinguished. Rescue workers once again warn citizens against using questionable heating devices and remind them of the need to strictly adhere to fire safety rules in the home.
The incident occurred amid ongoing energy tensions and heightened security measures in the region. While rescue workers battle the aftermath of residential fires, international pressure on the aggressor continues—in April 2026, the Russian economy officially entered a systemic recession. At the same time, Ukraine is strengthening its resilience, particularly through new agreements with Germany to bolster air defense and support the energy sector.
