The NEURC confirmed that searches were conducted at the homes of two of its members in connection with the "green" tariff case

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities has officially announced that investigative actions have been taken against Oleksandr Formagey and Kostyantyn Ushchapovsky. Searches were conducted in April 2026 as part of an investigation into a scheme to embezzle funds intended for payments under the “green” tariff.

The regulator stated that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement agencies, while the officials themselves are currently refraining from comment, citing the confidentiality of the investigation.

The case involves large-scale fraud benefiting power-generating companies located in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Earlier, NABU and the SAPO announced that nine individuals were under suspicion, including a former deputy head of the Office of the President and a relative of his. Investigators believe that funds were paid to companies that did not actually supply electricity to Ukraine’s unified power grid.

The Commission emphasized the importance of an objective investigation and respect for the rule of law. Currently, law enforcement agencies continue to gather evidence of the involvement of officials at various levels in the legalization of illegally obtained funds. The “green tariff” case remains one of the most high-profile anti-corruption investigations in the country’s energy sector.

Earlier, it was reported that NABU conducted searches at the homes of two NEURC members in the Shurma case.

Rostislav Shurma has been charged in a case involving the embezzlement of 141 million hryvnias

As a reminder, Rostislav Shurma was involved in the illegal construction of a car wash in Zaporizhzhia.

Additionally, Shurma’s brother’s company filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation.
