In Kyiv, a driver was sentenced to 6 years for a traffic accident that left two people injured
In Kyiv, a 58-year-old man was sentenced to 6 years in prison for a traffic accident in which he drove into oncoming traffic and caused serious bodily injury to two people in another car. The verdict was handed down on June 25 with the support of the public prosecution.
In December 2024, the defendant was driving a “FIAT DUKATO” from Brovarsky Avenue toward the village of Zazymia. This road has one lane in each direction.
Despite poor visibility on the road, the defendant decided to pass three cars at once by veering into the oncoming lane. At that moment, a “SKODA FABIA” carrying two people was traveling toward him. The drivers were unable to avoid the collision.
As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of the “SKODA FABIA” sustained serious bodily injuries. Specifically, they were diagnosed with multiple fractures, head contusions, and injuries to the chest and other parts of the body.

By a ruling of the Desnianskyi District Court of Kyiv, the driver of the car that veered into oncoming traffic was sentenced to 6 years in prison and had his driver’s license revoked for 3 years.

The court also ordered him to pay nearly 1 million hryvnias in damages to the two victims, according to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
