A drug smuggling ring supplying the Lutsk Detention Center was uncovered in Volyn
Law enforcement officials have dismantled a scheme to supply drugs and psychotropic substances to the Lutsk pretrial detention center. According to the investigation, a 30-year-old inmate organized a smuggling ring through two accomplices from Zaporizhzhia to deliver the prohibited substances for personal use and resale.
During court-authorized searches of the inmate’s accomplices, methadone and PVP were seized.
The inmate has been notified of his status as a suspect in organizing the illegal distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in places of detention (Part 3 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the two other suspects were charged with the illegal acquisition and distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in places of detention (Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Both accomplices of the detainee have been placed in pretrial detention as a preventive measure.
