Ukraine will speed up the identification of fallen defenders

Ukraine has repatriated more than 26,000 bodies and remains of fallen soldiers, but a significant portion of them remain unidentified. The authorities are preparing measures to speed up the identification process.

Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President, stated that the name of every fallen defender must be established. During a meeting of the Coordination Council, a specific plan of action was discussed.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that the issue of identifying the bodies will be monitored by the National Security and Defense Council. There are also plans to increase the number of forensic experts, raise their salaries, and establish specialized regional offices dedicated to identifying deceased servicemen.
