A modernized Lviv–Uzhhorod electric train has begun operating in Transcarpathia
On Tuesday, September 15, a modernized electric train will begin operating on Route No. 835/836: Lviv – Stryi – Skole – Tukhlya – Slavsko – Volovets – Svalyava – Mukachevo – Uzhhorod.
Specialists have completely refurbished the EPL2T-002 electric train, which was previously in service in the Luhansk region.
As part of the modernization, the train was equipped with new seats and an air conditioning system. Passengers will also have access to Wi-Fi, electrical outlets, Type-C ports, and USB ports.
For greater passenger convenience, bike racks and changing tables have been installed.
A vending machine with snacks and beverages has been installed in the dining car so that passengers can purchase a snack or drink during their trip.
Special attention was paid to accessibility during the modernization. The train is equipped with ramps and designated seating for people with disabilities.
Signs and plaques in Braille have also been installed in the cars to make using the train more convenient for passengers with visual impairments.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that tickets for the new route are already available on the company’s app.

As a reminder, more than 20 passenger trains are currently delayed in Ukraine, with the longest delay currently standing at nearly 12 hours. Train No. 109/110 from Mykolaiv Passenger Station to Lviv is the farthest behind schedule.
