Those involved in the Carthage case were tipped off about the searches—SAP chief
Those implicated in the “Carthage” fraudulent call center case were promptly tipped off that a search was planned for their premises. In addition, they may have received information from the SBU’s surveillance of the NABU and the SAP.
This was reported by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos.
“The obstruction of this criminal investigation is intense. It involves constant monitoring of the registry of court decisions. According to our information, the suspects knew that a search was coming. We will investigate how the information leak occurred again. These are the same issues related to the registry of court decisions and the databases that are being monitored. When detectives prepare a search warrant application, they access the registry of property rights. After that, a notification is automatically sent to a person unknown to us, and the suspects are alerted. That’s the first point. Second, the movements of our “Safe City” units’ vehicles are tracked, and visual surveillance of our facilities is conducted. Furthermore, regarding such attempts, as I mentioned, we also monitor the property registries and records of court decisions. “Let me remind you that just two weeks ago, there was an attempt by the Security Service of Ukraine to gain access to the judicial system’s VAKS database. Why? To see what motions are being filed,” he noted.
This was discussed at a briefing on September 14 attended by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and SAP Head Oleksandr Klymenko.
