In Transcarpathia, border guards discovered a shipment of silver on a passenger bus
At the “Dyakove” border crossing in Zakarpattia, border guards discovered silver worth 550,000 hryvnias hidden in a Mercedes-Benz passenger bus. The vehicle, driven by a 39-year-old Ukrainian citizen, was heading toward the border to leave the country.
During an inspection, two bundles were found in a trash can behind the driver’s seat. Analysis confirmed that the metal was 99.9% pure silver with a total weight of 6.05 kg.
A report was filed regarding this incident for a violation of customs regulations in accordance with Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine concerning the transportation of goods concealed from customs control.

Detectives from the State Bureau of Economic Security uncovered the illegal import of 117 metric tons of ethyl alcohol and methanol into Ukraine. The total value of the contraband exceeds 97 million hryvnias, and it was brought in disguised as automotive chemicals.
