The Ombudsman's Office has taken an interest in a traffic accident in Volyn involving a TCC

In Volyn, a representative of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights has launched an investigation into the circumstances of a traffic accident involving personnel from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC), which occurred on the Ustyluh–Rivne highway. The investigation was prompted by significant public outcry and video footage posted online showing a civilian vehicle being pursued.

This was reported by the press center of the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights in Volyn Oblast.

According to eyewitnesses and available video footage, it appears that a TCS service vehicle was pursuing a car carrying civilians. During the chase, dangerous maneuvers were likely employed, creating a hazardous situation and forcing the car to veer into a ditch, where it overturned. The Ombudsman’s office emphasized that such actions are a cause for serious concern, as they endangered people’s safety and could have led to a gross violation of their rights and traffic laws.

To clarify all the circumstances of the events, the Ombudsman’s representative in Volyn Oblast, Maksym Shklyoda, officially appealed to the leadership of the Volyn Oblast Territorial Center for Temporary Accommodation and Support, the Military Law Enforcement Service (VSP), and the Main Directorate of the National Police in Volyn Oblast. The competent authorities must conduct thorough internal investigations and provide an appropriate legal assessment of the military personnel’s actions. The Office of the Ombudsman of the Verkhovna Rada stated that it will personally oversee the investigation of this incident to ensure an objective and impartial outcome.
