More than 400 individuals convicted of treason and collaboration are awaiting transfer from Ukraine to Russia as part of an exchange for the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
This was reported by Andriy Yusov, deputy head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
According to him, as of May 1, 70 collaborators had already left for Russia as part of the “I Want to Be with My People” project. Yusov also reported that the “I Want to Live” project had received over 53,000 applications, and the website had been visited more than 50 million times, 43 million of which were from within Russia.
Ukraine is preparing for the next phase of a major prisoner exchange in the “1,000 for 1,000” format. The Coordination Headquarters says that negotiations with Russia are ongoing, and a new exchange could take place in the near future.
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported that negotiations on the exchange between Ukraine and Russia are ongoing. The Ukrainian side has submitted the so-called “list of 1,000,” compiled based on the length of time individuals have spent in Russian captivity.
