Weapons deliveries from the U.S. are continuing, but we need more air defense systems — Zelenskyy
The United States continues to steadily ship military aid to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a meeting with media representatives, emphasizing the importance of a continued strategic partnership with Washington.
The head of state noted that Kyiv maintains constant contact with American negotiators to ensure the regularity of deliveries.
“As for arms deliveries from the U.S.—they haven’t stopped. I am grateful to our partners for this. We are in touch with the negotiators,” the Ukrainian leader stated.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid special attention to the issue of defending Ukraine’s airspace, which remains the most vulnerable area of the defense.
According to him, despite the assistance, Ukraine still faces a severe shortage of air defense systems to repel enemy attacks.
The president recalled recent agreements with Berlin that will significantly help strengthen the country’s defense capabilities in the future.
“We recently signed a package with Germany, but there are deadlines that strategically strengthen us, while the tactical shortfall must be addressed by others,” he explained.
