The woman who hit Boris the deer had her driver's license suspended for a year
A woman who struck a wild deer named Boris was sentenced by the court to a one-year suspension of her driver’s license.
The decision was handed down by the Zarichne District Court in Rivne Oblast. The driver was found guilty on two counts: violating traffic rules, which caused the accident, and fleeing the scene of the accident.
The court found that during the incident, the woman failed to take road conditions into account and did not maintain a safe speed.
In addition to the suspension of her driver’s license, she was also ordered to pay court fees of 665 hryvnias and 60 kopecks.
A deer was recently seen running around the streets of Kyiv in a daze. The animal was first spotted in the Podilskyi district on October 23, and on the morning of October 24, the deer was also seen on the grounds of a kindergarten in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital. The animal was disoriented and tried to run away from people.
Elia Formanyuk, a resident of Volyn, shared on social media how she and her mother had to fend off the deer with sticks when they went mushroom picking in the forest. The animal was calm but persistently wanted to eat the mushrooms the women had gathered in their buckets.
