Border guards have updated information on the status of lines at Ukraine's western border

As of 6:00 p.m. on October 5, 2026, most border crossing points on Ukraine’s western border are operating without traffic congestion, and only minor lines of passenger cars are observed at certain crossings with Poland and Hungary.

At the same time, the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service recommends that citizens take into account the possibility of unstable operation of the border control services’ electronic systems when planning their trips.

On the border with Poland, the largest number of passenger cars is reported at the “Krakivets” border crossing, where 30 vehicles are waiting, as well as at the “Ustyluh” crossing, with 25 cars. At “Shehyni,” 15 passenger cars and 20 pedestrians are waiting in line, while there are no lines at the other checkpoints in this section. At the border with Hungary, there is only a small backlog of traffic at “Tisa,” where 10 vehicles are waiting. At the border crossing points with Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova, there are absolutely no lines of vehicles or pedestrians.

At the “Yagodin” border crossing, two drivers of an international bus were detained after attempting to bribe a border guard with $10,000.

Specialized defense prosecutors in the Western Region—in Lviv, Volyn, and Zakarpattia Oblasts—have uncovered five schemes involving the illegal smuggling of men of draft age across Ukraine’s state border.
