The prosecutor is requesting that Mykyta be arrested with bail set at 200 million hryvnia
The High Anti-Corruption Court is considering a preventive measure for former People's Deputy Maksym Mykytas, who is suspected of involvement in the laundering of 150 million hryvnias to post bail for one of the defendants in the “Midas” case.
A prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) is requesting that Mykytas be taken into custody, with bail set at 200 million hryvnias as an alternative.
The defense is requesting that the hearing be postponed until August 21, as the attorneys did not receive the case files until the evening of August 19.
According to investigators, before the bail was posted, the 150 million hryvnias passed through a series of companies and financial transactions to create the appearance of the funds’ lawful origin. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has also released recordings of conversations between those implicated in the case.
Mykitas is one of the individuals implicated in the NABU and SAPO special operation “Forest Gump.” The investigation into the case is ongoing.
Incidentally, the High Anti-Corruption Court is determining a preventive measure for former People’s Deputy Maksym Mykytas in a new case involving NABU and the SAP.
Iryna Mudra has been detained and is currently undergoing investigative procedures at NABU.
