The Rada has approved amendments to the 2026 budget: more than 1.3 trillion hryvnia will be allocated to defense
The Verkhovna Rada rejected all six resolutions to repeal the law on amendments to the 2026 state budget, which allowed the process of signing it to begin.
None of the six draft resolutions received the required number of votes, after which the law was finally cleared for signature by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and subsequent submission to the president.
The budget amendments provide for the allocation of 45 billion euros from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan program.
1.3 trillion hryvnia will be allocated for weapons, military equipment, ammunition, and the procurement and repair of equipment.
174 billion hryvnias are earmarked for the pay of military personnel.
14.6 billion hryvnia will go to the security and defense sector reserve.
40 billion hryvnias will be allocated to preparing regions for winter, protecting critical infrastructure, and ensuring backup power supplies.
An additional 40 billion hryvnias will be allocated to the state budget’s reserve fund.
