The labor shortage has become the biggest problem for Ukrainian businesses and has reached a historic high since records began.
In May, 69% of industrial enterprises cited labor shortages as the main obstacle to their operations. This problem has remained the top concern for over a year and a half.
60.6% of companies reported difficulties in finding skilled workers, while 38.4% cited a shortage of unskilled labor.
Only 2.4% of enterprises plan to increase their workforce over the next three months, while 5.1% are considering placing employees on mandatory leave.
The second most significant challenge for businesses remains rising prices for raw materials and supplies—as reported by 49% of respondents. Another 44% of companies cited the danger of working amid the war.
The number of companies complaining about falling demand for their products and logistical difficulties has also increased.
At the same time, problems with electricity supply are gradually becoming less of an issue—in May, only 20% of companies cited them as a significant obstacle.
