A difference of more than 300 hryvnias, as gas stations lowered their prices on August 15
On August 15, fuel prices in Ukraine vary depending on the gas station chain. For 50 liters of A-95 gasoline, drivers will have to pay anywhere from 3,945 UAH at Ukrnafta to 4,270 UAH at SOCAR—a difference of 325 UAH. At the same time, there are currently no forecasts for diesel to reach 100 UAH per liter this month, and no fuel shortages are expected in Ukraine.
Ukrnafta traditionally offers the lowest prices among major chains. Regular A-95 gasoline there costs 78.90 UAH per liter, and diesel costs 89.90 UAH. At WOG and OKKO, standard A-95 costs 82.90 UAH per liter. Euro diesel is sold for 93.90 UAH.
SOCAR has the highest prices among the chains listed. A liter of A-95 costs 85.40 UAH there, while NANO diesel costs 95.90 UAH. Some chains, however, have already begun to lower their prices slightly. For example, WOG has reduced the price of Euro A-95 by 60 kopecks, and Euro-5 and Mustang diesel by 90 kopecks per liter.
How much does a full tank cost?
If we consider a standard 50-liter fill-up, the difference between the chains becomes particularly noticeable. At Ukrnafta, 50 liters of A-95 will cost 3,945 UAH. The same amount of gasoline at SOCAR will cost 4,270 UAH.
In other words, you could pay 325 UAH more for a full tank, depending on which gas station you choose. The situation is similar with diesel. 50 liters at Ukrnafta will cost 4,495 UAH, while at SOCAR it will cost 4,795 UAH. The difference is 300 UAH.
For drivers who regularly fill up their cars with 40–50 liters, this difference can add up to a significant amount over the course of a month.

Thus, if a driver needs regular A-95, Ukrnafta is currently the cheapest option among these chains. The same applies to diesel.
What Will Happen to Diesel Prices
Drivers were particularly concerned about forecasts that diesel prices could rise to 100 UAH per liter in the near future. According to Serhiy Kuyun, director of the “A-95” consulting group, this forecast for August has now been withdrawn. No sharp spike in diesel prices is expected this month.
At the same time, the situation on the global market remains unstable. Prices are influenced, in particular, by events in the Middle East and the situation surrounding U.S.-Iran relations. “We’ve been living through this turbulence for half a year now, and no one can predict what will happen. It all depends on whether the U.S. and Iran reach an agreement. If there is peace, prices could drop very sharply—even below the levels seen at the start of the Iran conflict in late February. If, however, the escalation continues, prices will rise again due to a global oil shortage,” Kuyun explained.
According to him, diesel at 100 UAH per liter in August is not currently forecast. At the same time, further price changes cannot be ruled out entirely, as the situation on the global oil market can change rapidly.
Will There Be a Fuel Shortage?
Another question on drivers’ minds is whether they should head to gas stations now to stock up on fuel. Kuyun notes that a local fuel shortage in Ukraine is not expected in August. According to him, Ukrainian companies have contracted the necessary volumes in advance. However, risks to the market remain. Russia continues to attack Ukrainian storage facilities and logistics infrastructure, so supply problems could arise due to new strikes.
That is why the expert advises keeping a small supply of fuel—about two or three canisters. This is not about bulk purchasing, but about being able to calmly weather temporary disruptions. Such a reserve can be useful both in the event of logistical problems and during periods of high demand. If lines form at certain gas stations or the desired type of fuel is temporarily unavailable, drivers won’t have to rush to find another station.
For now, however, the situation appears calmer than previously predicted: diesel is not expected to reach 100 UAH per liter in August, there is no widespread shortage, and some gas stations are already offering small discounts. This is reported in an article by RBC-Ukraine.
Prior to this, as of August 14, 2026, major Ukrainian gas station chains had updated their fuel prices. On average, a liter of A-95 gasoline costs 81.67 UAH, and diesel fuel costs 91.56 UAH.
