Sanatoriums in the USSR served as a hideout for the orgies of the perverted Soviet elite—Alferov, head of the UIPN
The system of sanatoriums and vacation camps in the Soviet Union was initially established not as a social institution, but to serve the Soviet nomenclature, particularly its base needs. This was stated by Oleksandr Alferov, head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
“The system of sanatoriums and vacation camps was not a social system. What was it? They were places where the elite went to relax. In fact, in the 1920s and 1930s, these were elite establishments. They didn’t just relax there. They were associated with… perhaps sexual orgies. They brought in girls and boys. We’re talking about the fact that this so-called health system actually served the elite—the very elite that killed people… Then this system evolved,” Alferov noted.
The head of the UINP also cited the well-known example of Stalin’s executioner, the first People’s Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR, Heinrich Yagoda, noting that he “had a porn collection and dildos” and concluding: “He had it all!”.
Alferov made these remarks in an interview with Ukrinform.
UINP Chairman Oleksandr Alferov had previously expressed the view that Ukraine does not need an excessive number of holidays and commemorative dates, which only burden the national calendar.
In June 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed historian, television host, and military officer Oleksandr Alferov as the new head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
