The SBU and the National Police have dismantled 11 schemes to evade mobilization in various regions
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have uncovered 11 more schemes to evade mobilization that were operating in various regions of the country. Law enforcement officers detained the organizers of these schemes, who, for a fee, helped conscripts avoid conscription or illegally leave the country.
According to the investigation, the cost of such “services” ranged from 3,500 to 37,000 dollars. Among the exposed schemes were the issuance of fictitious medical documents, forged disability certificates, illegal deferrals through fictitious employment, smuggling across the state border, and the fabrication of false grounds for deferment.
The perpetrators were exposed in the Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Rivne, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, and Cherkasy regions.
The suspects were notified of charges under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including the illegal smuggling of persons across the border, abuse of influence, official forgery, and the use of forged documents. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
