Investigators are looking into whether a KRAKEN veteran was involved in the murder in Bali
Ukrainian investigators are looking into the possible involvement of Gleb Novostroyny, a veteran of the KRAKEN unit, in the murder of Igor Komarov on the Indonesian island of Bali. This was reported by “Ukrainska Pravda,” citing sources in law enforcement.
According to the publication’s sources, Novostroyny was in Bali from January 31 to February 19, 2026. During that same period, Denis Galushko—a longtime friend of Novostroyny’s who is wanted internationally by Interpol—was also on the island. According to Ukrainska Pravda’s sources, both men were in Bali at the same time and left the island simultaneously.
At that time, Indonesian investigators officially notified Galushko that he was a suspect in Komarov’s murder. A source also claims that after returning from Bali, Novostroyny did not leave his apartment for about two weeks and had almost no contact with anyone.

On July 30, Novostroyny was detained in Kyiv on suspicion of offenses under other articles of the Criminal Code. The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of nighttime house arrest. After seizing his cell phone, investigators, according to sources, discovered information about his stay in Bali and his possible involvement in Komarov’s murder.
Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are preparing an international legal request to share the information with law enforcement in Bali and obtain additional evidence regarding Novostroyny’s possible involvement in Komarov’s murder, a source told “Ukrainska Pravda.”
