"Servant of the People" will hold a convention to approve technical amendments to the party's charter
The "Servant of the People" political party is holding a convention today, at which it plans to review and approve several technical changes regarding the party's operations.
This was reported by a source within the party.
“The party convention is scheduled for around 2 p.m. today. As far as I know, the meeting will be held behind closed doors; journalists are not invited,” the agency’s source noted.
The MP added that issues related to the party’s work will be discussed during the meeting.
“The leader has changed—the charter must change as well, along with some other technical matters. I can’t say that these decisions will radically change anything, but we can’t move forward without them,” he emphasized.
The lawmaker also noted that a meeting between the majority bloc’s deputies and Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and members of the government has been announced for today.
“Regarding the information about the planned meeting between lawmakers and the government. We’re still waiting, but things could change. However, such a meeting is necessary. Parliament has shown that it has the votes to pass important initiatives. During this plenary week, some important laws received more than 300 votes. We are looking forward to meeting with the Prime Minister and the government to discuss all the issues that concern us and return to normal working procedures,” the politician added.
As a reminder, the High Anti-Corruption Court recently handed down a guilty verdict to Lyudmyla Marchenko, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party, and her assistant, Anastasia Kolesnik. The court sentenced both to two years in prison and restricted their right to hold certain positions for three years.
