A criminal case and 0.26 FTE: how Viktor Goldsky manipulates documents to avoid mobilization

Viktor Goldsky, owner of the media holding Comments.ua, is attempting to avoid mobilization by using a fictitious enrollment and teaching activities.

As UA.News has learned from its own sources, law enforcement officials have already initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery of documents) regarding the businessman’s document fraud.

A 0.26-FTE Position

According to our sources, Goldsky is officially listed as an associate professor at the Academy of Labor, Social Relations, and Tourism (ALSRT), but works only 0.26 FTE. Under current law, such a minimal teaching load does not entitle him to a deferment from conscription. In fact, his position is purely nominal and serves only as a legal formality.

Doctoral Studies as a Way to Deceive the TCC

Realizing that the status of a part-time lecturer would not save him from the draft notice, the media manager from the Kurchenko era activated “Plan B.” In May 2024, 43-year-old Goldsky urgently enrolled in a full-time doctoral program. It was precisely his status as a doctoral student that allowed him to mislead the Shevchenkivskyi Military Registration and Enlistment Office and the Kyiv City Military Commissariat and obtain an automatic deferment.

Currently, Goldsky is allegedly writing a dissertation on an “effective fiscal model.” However, law enforcement officials have reasonable grounds to suspect that the businessman’s entire academic activity is merely a tool to legitimize his stay in the rear.

Criminal Proceedings

Information regarding the offense was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations on April 3, 2026 (case No. 12026105080000387). The investigation is examining the circumstances surrounding Goldsky’s acquisition of educational documents and their subsequent use to manipulate mobilization lists.

Previously, the Academy of Labor had tried in every way to conceal information about the status of its “star” student, citing confidentiality; however, under pressure from the criminal case, it was forced to confirm the details of his “academic” path.

UA.News continues to monitor developments and investigate Goldsky’s ties to the university’s administration, which enabled him to carry out this scheme.
