Border guards warn of traffic delays for those leaving Ukraine
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports that vehicles are backing up at four border crossing points on the way to Poland. Citizens planning to cross the border are urged to take possible delays into account.
Interfax-Ukraine reported this on May 30.
“For departure from Ukraine: ‘Krakivets’ – 70 passenger cars; ‘Shehyni’ – 45 cars; ‘Ugryniv’ – 20 cars; ‘Ustyluh’ – 35 cars. For entry into Ukraine: “Shehyni” – 50 cars; “Krakivets” – 30 cars; “Ustyluh” – 15 cars,” the State Border Guard Service press service reported.
Additionally, 12 buses are waiting to exit Ukraine at the “Shehyni” checkpoint and 4 buses at the “Krakivets” checkpoint.
“We remind you that the ‘e-Queue’ electronic system is in effect for international bus transportation, allowing carriers to plan their border crossing times in advance. However, the slot allocation mechanism has not yet been implemented at the Shehyni and Krakivets checkpoints. As a result, buses arrive without a scheduled processing time, which creates additional pressure on these routes. To avoid traffic jams and long waits at the border crossing, we recommend choosing less congested border crossings,” the State Border Guard Service emphasized.
Earlier, queues of hundreds of cars formed at the border with Poland.
