Medical students will be classified as subject to military service
Medical students in Ukraine will acquire military service status and be granted officer ranks upon graduation. This was announced by Health Minister Viktor Lyashko, according to UNIAN.
He noted that legislative amendments have been adopted requiring medical universities to establish military departments for the next academic year.
“In other words, all applicants who enroll in medical universities and receive a higher medical education will be subject to military service. And upon completion of their education, they will receive an officer’s rank,” the minister noted.
