A Kyivteploenergo official is to stand trial in Kyiv for embezzling half a million hryvnias on salt purchases
The deputy director of the "Kyivteploenergo" municipal enterprise will stand trial in Kyiv for embezzling more than half a million hryvnias during the purchase of rock salt.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipro District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv, an indictment has been filed against the municipal enterprise official on charges of embezzlement of budget funds (Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It was established that in October 2025, the deputy director of one of the departments of Kyivteploenergo signed a contract for the supply of rock salt at a price that significantly exceeded the market value of such goods.
According to the findings of expert examinations, the overpayment for the salt amounted to 533,000 UAH.
The penalty under this article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
As a reminder, a mayor in the Kyiv region will stand trial for embezzling 5 million UAH on sewer repairs.
