The court has authorized a special investigation into Zhevago in connection with the "Finance and Credit" Bank case

At the request of the State Bureau of Investigations, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has authorized a special pre-trial investigation into a Ukrainian oligarch who is a suspect in a case involving the embezzlement of funds from the "Finance and Credit" bank.

This was reported by the SBI’s press service.

The bureau noted that back in 2019, the oligarch and a number of the bank’s top managers were notified of their status as suspects under Part 3 of Article 27, Part 5 of Article 191, and Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigators believe that they organized a scheme to embezzle $113 million from the financial institution, thereby causing losses to the state and depositors.

As part of the case, the assets of the suspect and his affiliated companies have been seized. Specifically, this includes $158 million in Swiss bank accounts, assets of 49 Ukrainian companies transferred to the management of ARMA, as well as corporate rights in 19 foreign companies.

Separately, it is reported that as part of international cooperation in France, Ukrainian investigators served the oligarch with a notice of suspicion in yet another proceeding—regarding the withdrawal of 519 million hryvnias from the “Finance and Credit” bank. The procedural action took place on March 19, 2026, in Paris with the participation of French law enforcement officials.

As noted, a Ukrainian delegation consisting of SBI investigators and prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General arrived in France as part of international legal assistance. The notice of suspicion was served at the French National Fraud Investigation Office.

The Office of the Prosecutor General is overseeing the proceedings in the case.

Previously, the High Anti-Corruption Court found Dmytro Yegorenko, the former chairman of the board of Rodovid Bank, guilty of official misconduct but acquitted him due to the statute of limitations.

The defense team for businessman and former MP Kostyantyn Zhevago called the information regarding the new charges against him “manipulative” and stated that it does not comply with legal norms. Attorney Natalia Pushina noted that the procedural actions were initiated by Zhevago himself, not by the investigators, and that the charges are intended to exert political pressure and constitute an attempt at a hostile takeover of property.

Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court extended the preventive measure for another two months against one of the defendants in the case against businessman Konstantin Zhevago regarding the possible provision of an unlawful benefit to the then-head of the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Knyazev.
