Court Freezes 3 Million Hryvnia Donation to the “Come Back Alive” Fund – Sternenko
The High Anti-Corruption Court (Judge Iryna Teslenko) refused to approve a plea agreement between the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and Oleksandr Kachny, a member of parliament from the banned OPZZh party, who is accused of illegal enrichment totaling more than 12.7 million hryvnias.
The agreement provided that the politician would fully admit guilt, agree to the special confiscation of 12.98 million hryvnias to the state budget, and additionally voluntarily transfer 3 million hryvnias to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces through the “Come Back Alive” charitable foundation.
The judge justified her refusal by stating that a voluntary contribution to a private foundation “does not serve the public interest” and falls outside the control of the agreement’s signatories and the court, proposing instead that the funds be transferred to a special account of the National Bank of Ukraine or the Ministry of Defense. Volunteer Serhiy Sternenko reacted critically to this decision, emphasizing the transparency of “Come Back Alive’s” financial reporting and noting that, due to a serious illness, the MP could potentially avoid liability altogether and fail to pay the funds if the case were heard under the standard procedure. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) also expressed its disagreement with the High Anti-Corruption Court’s decision and plans to insist on further consideration of the case.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainians have donated a total of 4.7 billion hryvnias through Serhiy Sternenko’s personal “banks” and the accounts of the “Sternenko Community” foundation at monobank. These figures were released by Oleg Gorokhovsky, co-founder of monobank.
Ukraine must now focus its efforts on countering small Russian-made cruise missiles, specifically the “Banderole” and “Dan-T.” Russia is gradually scaling up their use, Serhiy Sternenko, a former adviser to Ukraine’s ex-Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, stated on Thursday on the social media platform X.
