The Holy See Supports Ukraine's Territorial Integrity — Ambassador

The Holy See unequivocally supports Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity and is using its diplomatic resources to assist Kyiv.

Andriy Yurash, Ukraine’s ambassador to the Vatican, noted that Ukraine is counting on continued humanitarian support from the Holy See, as well as its assistance on the international stage.

According to him, the Vatican is actively involved in efforts to secure the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war, humanitarian initiatives, and support for Ukraine’s European integration.

A separate area of cooperation involves countering Russian efforts to recruit citizens of African countries. Under the pretext of education or employment, these individuals are invited to the Russian Federation and subsequently drawn into the war against Ukraine.

Yurash also emphasized that relations between Ukraine and the Holy See have become significantly closer and have taken on a strategic character since the start of the full-scale war.
