Svyrydenko met with Klitschko to discuss Kyiv’s preparations for winter
Government officials discussed preparations for the upcoming heating season in the capital with Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. They also confirmed continued support for measures aimed at ensuring the city’s resilience.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported this on Telegram.
“The government is helping Kyiv prepare for the coming winter and ensure uninterrupted heat supply. We are working in dialogue with city authorities. We have coordinated actions within the framework of implementing resilience plans,” the message reads.
According to the Prime Minister, the government, for its part, has already allocated 987 million hryvnias for priority measures and is ready to provide full support going forward. At the same time, it expects the city to make timely decisions and organize work at facilities designated as the responsibility of local authorities. The work must be completed on time and in full.
Due to significant damage to the thermal power plant, the city must immediately prepare the infrastructure to ensure a stable supply of heat and electricity to residents, even under shelling. The key task is to meet the needs of all districts with alternative energy sources and protect critical facilities. Part of this work will be carried out by the Recovery Agency, and part by the capital using its own resources.
